04 — About

Bilingual filmmaker, based in Burnaby, BC.

At 18, Ricardo Cateriano is already developing a focused body of work across narrative film, documentary, and visual storytelling in Vancouver, BC.

I'm an emerging filmmaker working across documentary, live event and short narrative. My background is hands-on: production assistant on Capilano University MOPA shoots, sound and editor for Muzewest concert recordings, director of original short films including The Glass and Robson St.

I've crewed roughly twelve short films in 2025 — as 1st AD, 2nd AD, producer, grip and camera assistant — managing call sheets, on-set safety and media. I work in English and Spanish, which is useful with diverse interview subjects and crews.

What I'm building toward: long-form documentary that takes its time, made in and around the Pacific Northwest.

Path

Ricardo's filmmaking path began during high school, where he pursued focused training in media arts, video production, film, and broadcast before continuing into documentary studies at Capilano University.
